Egypt Day 5
The whole of today was spent on the beach. Plus I was recovering from a night of sitting on the loo every couple of hours. To add insult to injury we found that the fridge in our room had frozen the strawberries.

Today was spent mainly lounging around, but with the addition of a bit of snorkelling off the beach. We saw a few fish, including cornetfish and puffer fish. In the evening we celebrated Ady’s birthday by getting the shuttle bus into Hurghada and going out to a restaurant in Hurghada marina.
In the morning we caught the shuttle bus into the Sakara district of Hurghada and spent an hour or so walking along the main (tourist) shopping street, Sheriton Road. We bought outselves some “Ripcurl” beach shoes and a couple of t’shirts all for 90 LE, plus dried dates and some fresh strawberries. After the excitement…
Today was to start the theme of most of the holiday of getting up in time for the last hour of breakfast at 9am. We then headed up to reception to the welcome meeting with the rep from hotels4u, but were told that because we had only booked the transfer with them we would need…
Last weekend Ady’s parents drove up to Manchester and picked up Robin (who has gone to live with them for a while whilst he does some training and searches for a job), Phoebe and Lexi (who are going on holiday to “dog boot camp”* for three weeks). So after a hectic four days in work,…
Got up at the usual 7:30am and this morning got served a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. Avoided the first shower, but ended up motoring to the pontoon in the second shower, which of course stopped as soon as we were moored! Collected up our gear, put it in the car and…
Lifted the anchor with no problem and only a small amount of kelp on the chain unlike the Beneteau! Set off for Tobermory in the rain, going around the South of Muck. Once around Ardnamurchan Point the rain stopped and wind dropped. Motored to pick up a buoy in Tobermory. Had a fantastic three course…
Left the anchorage under motor and spotted four dolphins in East Loch Dunvegan. Sailed down to Canna Harbour where we anchored up just before dark. Very rough weather during the night and in the morning found that the Beneteau anchored with us had slipped anchor. The other three boats were fine, as were we. Found…
Sailed down to Dunvegan Harbour where we looked at the visitor moorings, but decided to anchor off the castle. There were seals on the shore all around the bay and Richard counted 80! 55 miles in 9 hours 30 minutes.
Left the anchorage at Ewe Island and headed over to Camas Glas. Anchored an then rowed ashore to spend a couple of hours walking around Inverewe Gardens in the rain. I just managed to row the inflatable with Mum, Dad and Tin in it back to the boat into the wind. Spent the afternoon sailing…
